This position is located at our premier Product Development & Research (PD&R) facility in Carrollton, TX. Since you will be working primarily on new product initiatives, there is a large opportunity for patents. As the Lead Mechanical Engineer- Cooling, you will be responsible for developing and applying advanced mechanical engineering design methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems with HVAC Cooling Products. You may also provide technical consultation to other organizations and work leadership for lower level employees.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Plan, conduct and technically direct projects or the major phases of significant projects.
Coordinate the efforts of engineers and technical support staff.
Conduct investigations or tests of considerable complexity pertaining to the development of new designs, methods and materials.
Review literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
Recommend corrections in technical analysis and design.
Evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Bachelor's degree in engineering required; BSME preferred
At least 8 years related experience in research and product development of Refrigeration products
Comprehension of practical applications of engineering science and technology.
Expert use of analytical and CAD software.
Expert knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Vapor compression system design, development and test experience
Familiarity with AHRI 210/240
Development of bills of material
Understanding of product configuration management and engineering change processes
Ability to interact with suppliers in defining component requirements
Ability to manage and prioritize development tasks
Adaptability and flexibility in dealing with evolving product requirements while communicating impacts to the product design
Strong communication skills with peers, managers and executives
