Job Description

TheDirector of Operations Excellenceis responsible for driving process improvements for all Value Streams and Service processes within Commercial manufacturing in Stuttgart. This position is the catalyst for all Lean improvement processes and will partner with operational process owners to establish strategic goals, Lean initiatives, Lean engagement, and define process analytics for the organization. This position will work directly with senior leaders to define linkages between strategic objectives and process improvements, using both analytical tools and project management techniques. The Director of Operations Excellence will be the key focal point for the execution of Stuttgart functional teams re-engineering of existing operations, and establishing new operations based on the Lean strategy that is established for the operation. The position will facilitate the establishment of the Lean Continuous Improvement Strategy, and drive the deployment of that strategy through tactical planning and execution. The position will influence change management, employee engagement and lead project management related to process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of large scale business transformational programs.

  • Provide hands on project management and coordinates multiple projects with the leadership stakeholders.

  • Creates project plans, timelines, critical paths, and milestones. Perform cost-benefit evaluation for all assigned projects to define potential financial, business, and industry impacts of initiatives.

  • Applies Lean Six Sigma tools or other continuous improvement methodologies to complex business processes, and implements solutions which provide positive performance and financial impact.

  • Simultaneously lead multiple projects and initiatives that may have many internal and external dependencies, complex scope, higher levels of risk and involves cross-functional highly matrix areas.

  • Data driven analysis & decision making.

  • Create end-to-end Value Stream Mapping and data collection plans to scope and identify opportunities that positively impact up-stream and down-stream partners.

  • Advisor to senior leadership on the continuous improvement strategy and transformation to tactically deploy Lean transformation. Standard Work Areas & Processes

  • Close partner with General Plant Manager and the plant leadership team

  • Key contributor to creating and executing the factory business plan

  • Act as the Lean Sensei for the operation.

  • Proven Lean Strategic Planning and execution, with at least 6-10 years of Staff level leadership experience.

  • Manages the hiring, direction, assessment and development of a team of Op/Ex team members.

  • Able to motivate and lead teams to achieve goals.

  • Champion the Commercial culture, driving an environment of accountability, open communication, and high ethical standards

  • Drive process and efficiency improvement across all functions.

  • Provide Lean “Change Management” leadership to be proactive in anticipating, assessing, and addressing the needs of the factory

  • Must have proven success in Lean deployment strategies and driving continuous improvement strategies

  • Support the Vision and Mission statement of the Commercial business segment

Qualifications

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills that result in effective communications.

  • Exceptional presentation skills to senior executives.

  • Strong knowledge of developing and implementing continuous improvement training programs.

  • Certification in Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt.

  • Experience utilizing a wide array of Lean Six Sigma tools and processes.
